In participation observation a researcher observes a social setting as well as joins and becomes a member. Sally began participant observation by observing these ladies studying and then joining them and studying too.
In this photo Kate is conducting an interview with a thug's girlfriend (notice the Eazy E shirt). She prepared a set of questions to ask $ally face-to-face and to gain a better understanding of who she is and what she does. An interview can accumulate large amounts of qualitative data.
This existing source is an encyclopedia filled with information that has already been collected by researchers and is beneficial to future researchers to study.
